So, as you noticed, I've been gone for a while. Chuck it up to the first weeks of school stress. Amidst all academic commitments, several things have taken place. There was the epic final between Andre Agassi and Roger Federer(Federer won), and the Miami Hurricanes losing to Florida State(what a nightmare. I could not have been more disturbed watching my team miss snaps and field goals, live!) NFL season kicked off and in the first Monday night game, Jeremiah Trotter(Eagles) and Kevin Mathis(Falcons) were ejected in a pre-game fight. The Marlins now lead the race for the wild card spot with Dontrelle Willis looking like a possible Cy-Young winner. But even with all of these great games going on, the country is still shaken by the effects of Hurricane Katrina. Katrina has sparked some more racial classification discussions as too many poor black people were left to die and fend for themselves in New Orleans. Parts of Mississippi and Alabama were also affected. What is great is how athletes and other celebrities have rallied together to raise and donate money and supplies to help those in need. I'll stop this little attempt at an update in the sports world, but I hope to be back with some more regularly.
